As the second book in this series, I was so excited to what was going to happen next. Although it's quite short like the first book, it's filled with so many typos and problems with the timeline and extra characters that it felt like someone else entirely wrote this one. It significantly takes away from the story and makes it no longer enjoyable to read. I was quite disappointed because we are given very little information to further the story and even the time spent in the past was so rushed that it led to more questions than answers.I'm upset that I spent money on this book and can't justify buying the next in the series, as much as, I would love to know more as the story itself is quite unique and has a lot of potential.

The majority of the book is incredibly well written, which is why i didn't give this two stars. I think, however, that it may be missing several chapters between 8 and 9. The bad guy leaves her house, and then she and her friend are kidnapped. I reread it several times trying to figure out what happens.
Also, I wouldn't consider this a romance. The man guy acts like he is 12, then, for no explainable reason, she loves him.

Alpha Hybrid The Magistrate is book two in the series of novellas, Cavern of Light by Larissa Ladd.
Abby’s life has changed in every way imaginable. She is still dealing with the loss of her beloved Aunt and Uncle. At the same time, she is learning as much as she can about what she is, a hybrid, both a werewolf and a witch. The first of her kind. Her best friend, Dorrie, is teaching her about the magic side of things and Jake is teaching her about the werewolf side of things. That strong attraction is still there between she and Jake but Abby has decided to put that on hold for the time being.
She is now the legal owner of her Aunt and Uncle’s cabin and also, Abby is about to become a business owner. She bought the building which will be her life’s dream, her very own bakery. During a night out with Jake and her friends, Abby finds out there is an unexpected twist to what she can expect with her powers. Dorrie and Abby find themselves thrust back in time to the Salem, MA of the past, during the time the Salem witch trials were just beginning. Why were they sent back to this time and what are they supposed to accomplish? Abby meets the feared Magistrate that commanded the deaths of so many innocent women. At the same time back in her own time, it seems the threat of Mayor Corwin might not be over with.
Even though I didn’t love this one as much as I did the first one, I still look forward to seeing what is in store next for Abby as she learns to navigate through this new life she has begun.
Abby got everything in the green to get her shop opened. she had to go back to help her elder to find the cave of light. something wicked is coming
This book was a great read. The storyline was fantastic. I like the characters too. This book I would recommend for a quick read.
